We were recently contacted to assess the feasibility of renovating a master bathroom for a potential client. If you have been contemplating a home renovation and are interested in our process, discover what it is like to collaborate with K2 Design Remodel on your house remodel. Explore the seamless journey our client had and determine if we are the perfect match for your project.
First Contact
Discovering our remodeling portfolio through a Google search, our valued clients initiated contact by calling our office for more information. We had a nice conversation, and listened as they shared some unique aspects of the project they envisioned. Our team recorded crucial details and started a file in anticipation of a comprehensive walk-through. To ensure a tailored and efficient consultation experience, we coordinated a date and time that accommodated everyone involved.
The Job Walkthrough
The day arrived for Sandra and I to walk the project and we arrived on time to meet with our clients. After introductions they took us to the primary bathroom. Our clients told us all about the project they had in mind, and we asked questions and took notes. We pointed out a few things that would make the process smoother and presented a few ideas of our own that we thought would make for a better final product. We all agreed on a scope for the bathroom renovation, and we asked for a week to prepare the quote for the work.
Quoting the Job
Our team quickly got to work preparing the estimate for the renovation work. Developing quotes for remodel work can be quite tricky, as it is hard to envision the entire process and anticipate all the challenges that might be faced. However, remodeling is all we specialize in, and we are able to draw on our extensive experience in quoting and performing on other projects. We developed a detailed quote and scope of work, and allowances were included for all high-ticket items such as shower glass, flooring, tile and shower valves. We presented the quote to our clients and made ourselves available to answer any questions that they had. In the end there were a few things that were added to the scope of work and budget for the projects, and a couple of things that were subtracted. After everyone was satisfied with the final draft, a DocuSign contract was sent via email to our customers. Our customers returned the signed renovation contract, and it was time for scheduling.
Scheduling and Construction
Everyone appreciates a reliable schedule, and we do our best to deliver one on every project. We submitted a start date, and estimated duration of the project, and once it was approved, added it to our work calendar. We began coordinating our schedule with our plumber and electrician, and began ordering all necessary materials. All materials were stored in our climate-controlled warehouse as we awaited construction.
The day of construction arrived, and we knocked on the front door at 8am. Our team performed a detailed walkthrough with everyone that would be involved in the project from demo to final clean. The jobsite was always neat and orderly, and we were diligent in protecting other surfaces and furniture as we did surgery to the primary bathroom. Regular communication with our customers was a high priority as we updated them regularly with phone calls, emails and even the occasional text message. As challenges arose, they were discussed, and solutions were agreed upon. Progress invoices were submitted along the way and paid in a timely manner. We finished the job on time and on budget.
Follow Up
After the bathroom had been delivered, the customer had time to review the work, and created a small punch list. This was scheduled and finished in a timely manner and final billing was submitted. We asked for permission to photograph our work and to use the pictures online in our marketing. We asked for a Google review and thanked them for their trust in us.
This was a very successful project thanks in large part to excellent communication from start to finish, and high-quality tradesman who care deeply about their work. If you are thinking about a renovation in your home, and like the sound of our process, give us a call! We look forward to hearing from you and promise to always deliver ‘Quality with Kindness’.
